How the YouGotListings connection works
YouGotListings is software built for residential rentals, used by agents and offices since 2009. Listify IDX shows the rentals you manage there as a property search on your website, straight from your YouGotListings account. There’s nothing to export, upload, or wait for: when you add a unit, change a price, or mark something rented, renters see the change right away. Changes in your account, like which listings carry a tag, show up the same way.
Listify IDX shows YouGotListings rentals only. If you also sell homes, add an MLS feed, such as MLS PIN in Massachusetts, and visitors can switch between rentals and homes for sale in the same search.
Renters get the filters that matter in a rental market: move-in dates, pets, no-fee apartments, and listings with a virtual tour. You can also add filters for the custom features you assign to listings in YouGotListings.
How to get connected
- Get API access from YouGotListings. YouGotListings offers API access on its Team account. Your account admin requests the API key by emailing YouGotListings support, as described in its guide to showing listings on your website.
- Choose what to show. Show all your rentals, or only listings with certain tags. You can also send every inquiry to one YouGotListings agent and use that agent’s cities and neighborhoods in the search’s location list.
- Choose where leads go. Inquiries can go straight into your YouGotListings Leads, or by email.
Once you sign up, we set up the YouGotListings connection with you, using your API key.
YouGotListings sets its own pricing for its Team account and API access, separate from your Listify IDX subscription. Check with YouGotListings for current details.
What visitors see on your website
Every rental shows its price, beds and baths, location, move-in date, photos, and description, on the map and in the list. Each one also gets its own page on your website, with a link renters can share.
YouGotListings’ API agreement says websites must keep any attribution, disclaimers, and notices it requires, and its API rules keep listing tags private. Your search follows both: tags can decide which listings appear, but visitors never see them.
What you need
- A YouGotListings Team account with API access, and your API key.
- A website where you can add your own code. Any website builder with a code embed or custom HTML block works.
- A Listify IDX account. YouGotListings works on every plan, including Basic.
Works on the website you already have
Listify IDX adds property search to the website you have now. You or your web team copy and paste a single piece of code, called an embed code, into the page, and the search appears there. See the steps for Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, Showit, or any other website.
